Reconnecting Conflict-affected Communities to Care

To address the critical healthcare gap in rural, conflict-affected regions of Ukraine, this project will deploy multidisciplinary Integrated Mobile Teams (IMTs).

These teams, each comprising a doctor, a nurse, a psychologist, and a social worker, will deliver essential health services directly to communities with limited or no access to medical facilities.

The core mission is to diagnose and manage both communicable and non-communicable diseases, provide vital medications, facilitate referrals to higher levels of care, and offer comprehensive support to the most vulnerable individuals.

More about Integrated Mobile Teams

Specialist Care in mobile teams

The project has been supporting Ministry of Health (MoH) specialist doctors to provide clinical consultations within their respective areas of expertise in locations visited by mobile medical teams.

To strengthen the quality of care and ensure access to specialized services in remote areas, the project provided incentives to cardiologists, endocrinologists, ophthalmologists, ENT specialists, and gynecologists who joined mobile teams based on referrals made by mobile team doctors.

CVA projects in Mobile Teams

The Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) projects implemented through mobile teams play a critical role in facilitating medical referrals to higher levels of care. To address one of the main barriers faced by rural populations—transportation costs—the project provides targeted cash support to beneficiaries, enabling timely access to diagnostic and specialized health services that are often unavailable in their communities.
