Crimes against Humanity

Crimes against humanity are serious offenses such as murder, rape, torture, enslavement, enforced disappearances, and other inhumane acts that intentionally cause great suffering or serious injury to body or mental health, committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack against any civilian population. These acts are prohibited under international law, including treaties and customary norms.
