Community-Based Approach

A community-based approach empowers individuals of all genders and ages to actively participate in identifying their needs, shaping their future, and driving their own empowerment. It recognizes them as key decision-makers, prioritizes understanding local concerns, and mobilizes community members to engage in protection and programming. The focus is on enabling refugees to organize and solve their own problems, while external support aims to build, rebuild, or strengthen community capacities to address protection risks and manage resources. Participatory assessment, grounded in shared responsibility for protection, is integral to this approach.
