Mines

Explosive devices placed on or under the ground or other surfaces, designed to detonate upon the presence, proximity, or contact of a person or vehicle. They include anti-personnel landmines, which target individuals and cause indiscriminate harm long after conflicts end, and mines other than anti-personnel landmines, which are vehicle-triggered and intended to destroy tanks and vehicles, also remaining dangerous for years after deployment.
