Jus Soli

Jus soli is a legal doctrine under which a person’s citizenship is granted based on their birth within a country’s territory, regardless of the nationality of their parents. This principle is commonly applied in nations with high immigration rates, such as the United States and Canada, and stands in contrast to jus sanguinis, where citizenship is inherited from one or both parents.
