Gross violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms refer to severe, widespread, or systematic abuses that shock the conscience of humanity, including but not limited to genocide, enslavement, extrajudicial killings, torture, enforced disappearances, arbitrary and prolonged detention, forced displacement, and systemic discrimination based on race or gender.
