Exploitation refers to the process by which a more powerful group takes advantage of a less powerful group, often through economic or social manipulation. This concept is central to dependency theory, which focuses on the influence of a transnational elite, and world-systems theory, which emphasizes the dominance of powerful states in the global economy.
