Multilateralism

A foreign policy approach where states coordinate with other international actors to achieve common objectives, often through institutional frameworks or ad hoc coalitions. Even dominant powers may adopt multilateral tactics, such as forming temporary alliances for military interventions, while regional powers frequently use multilateral frameworks to legitimize and pool resources for collective action.
