Hegemony describes a condition in which one state exerts overarching influence over the political, economic, and military frameworks of a region or the global system, shaping the rules, norms, and behaviors of other actors. This dominant position enables the hegemonic state to lead and maintain stability through its structural, military, and economic power, as emphasized in hegemonic stability theory.
