Civil Society

The sphere of organized social activity that exists between the state, the market, and the private sphere, encompassing a diverse array of non-governmental actors such as advocacy groups, community organizations, faith-based institutions, academic bodies, labor unions, professional associations, and informal networks like families and clans. During crises, domestic civil society often serves as a primary provider of aid and protection to affected populations.
