ADRA
Organization: ADRA International – Adventist Development and Relief Agency
About
ADRA was founded in 1956 and is headquartered in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. It works in emergencies and development contexts through a network of national ADRA organizations affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, although programmes serve all beneficiaries regardless of faith. ADRA implements programmes across food security, primary health, WASH, livelihoods, and disaster preparedness.
ADRA Ukraine has operated since the early phases of the Donbas conflict (2014) and significantly expanded after February 2022. It delivers emergency food assistance, cash and voucher programmes, NFI distribution, shelter support, and health supply distributions in conflict-affected areas. ADRA’s response in Ukraine is funded by ADRA donor governments (including USAID/BHA and European donors), and it participates in cluster coordination mechanisms. ADRA’s established presence and Ukrainian national office infrastructure make it a partner and peer reference in the Ukraine humanitarian landscape.
ADRA International (Adventist Development and Relief Agency) is a global humanitarian and development organization affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, working in over 130 countries on emergency response, food security, health, and livelihoods. ADRA operates on a non-sectarian basis in its programming.
Ukraine Commitment
ADRA has been active in Ukraine since 2014 and significantly scaled up since 2022, providing emergency food, shelter, NFI, cash assistance, and health supplies to conflict-affected populations, with programming supported by ADRA’s global network and bilateral donor funding.
