About

ZOA International is a Christian-inspired relief and recovery organization that supports people affected by conflict and natural disasters. Founded in 1973, ZOA operates in over 15 countries worldwide, focusing on restoring hope and dignity through emergency aid, rehabilitation, and long-term development. The organization’s mission is to help vulnerable communities rebuild their lives and livelihoods in a sustainable manner.

In Ukraine, ZOA has been active since 2014, initially providing humanitarian assistance to conflict-affected populations in the east. Following the escalation of the war in February 2022, ZOA expanded its operations significantly. Current programs include emergency food distributions, cash assistance, shelter repairs, winterization support, and psychosocial support. ZOA works in frontline areas and among internally displaced persons (IDPs) in regions such as Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, and Dnipro.

Since the full-scale invasion, ZOA has reached over 500,000 people with life-saving aid. The organization’s rapid emergency response includes multi-purpose cash assistance, shelter materials, and hygiene kits. ZOA also supports local partners and volunteers to ensure aid reaches the most vulnerable, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, and female-headed households. Their work contributes to the resilience and recovery of war-affected communities in Ukraine.
