About

WeWorld is an Italian non-governmental organization committed to promoting and protecting the rights of children, women, and communities in over 27 countries worldwide. Founded in 1971, its mission is to build a more just and equitable world by addressing the root causes of poverty, inequality, and exclusion, with a particular focus on gender equality and child protection.

In Ukraine, WeWorld has been active since 2014, initially focusing on supporting internally displaced persons and conflict-affected populations in the eastern regions. Following the escalation of the conflict in February 2022, WeWorld expanded its operations significantly, implementing integrated programs in protection, education, livelihoods, food security, WASH, and shelter. The organization works primarily in the oblasts of Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Kherson, often in partnership with local NGOs and authorities.

Since 2022, WeWorld has reached over 200,000 people with emergency assistance, including cash transfers, winterization support, psychosocial support, and access to safe learning spaces. The organization also focuses on long-term recovery, supporting livelihoods and community resilience. WeWorld is a member of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund and coordinates closely with UN agencies and other humanitarian actors.
