Organization: War Child

About

War Child is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to protecting and empowering children affected by armed conflict. Founded in 1993, its mission is to ensure that every child living in a war zone has a safe and secure childhood, with access to education, psychosocial support, and protection from violence and exploitation.

In Ukraine, War Child has been operational since 2014, providing critical support to children and families affected by the conflict. Programs focus on child protection, education in emergencies, and psychosocial support, reaching vulnerable communities in eastern Ukraine and areas hosting internally displaced persons. War Child works through local partners to deliver services that are culturally appropriate and sustainable.

Since the escalation of the conflict in February 2022, War Child has scaled up its emergency response, providing mental health and psychosocial support, child protection services, and educational activities to thousands of children. The organization has also distributed essential items and supported safe spaces for children and families. War Child’s impact includes reaching over 100,000 children and caregivers with life-saving assistance.
