Organization: Village Water Bleach
About
Village Water Bleach (VWB) is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) solutions to vulnerable communities worldwide. Founded on the principle that access to clean water is a fundamental human right, VWB works to prevent waterborne diseases and improve public health through sustainable water infrastructure, hygiene promotion, and capacity building.
In Ukraine, VWB has been active since 2014, focusing on WASH interventions in conflict-affected areas. The organization repairs damaged water supply systems, distributes water purification tablets and hygiene kits, and conducts hygiene awareness campaigns in communities along the contact line. VWB also supports health facilities with water and sanitation upgrades to ensure safe healthcare delivery.
Since the escalation of the conflict in 2022, VWB has scaled up its emergency response, reaching over 500,000 people with life-saving water and hygiene assistance. The organization has deployed mobile water treatment units, installed emergency latrines in collective centers, and provided mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) integrated with WASH activities. VWB’s rapid response teams have been instrumental in addressing the acute water needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities.
