About

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is a humanitarian organization that provides assistance to vulnerable populations in Ukraine. As part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, its mission is to prevent and alleviate human suffering, protect life and health, and ensure respect for the human being. URCS operates under the Fundamental Principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.

In Ukraine, URCS implements a wide range of programs including emergency medical services, psychosocial support, mine risk education, shelter rehabilitation, cash assistance, and distribution of relief items. The organization has a network of regional branches and volunteers across the country, enabling rapid response to crises. URCS also focuses on long-term community resilience, health promotion, and disaster preparedness.

Since the escalation of the conflict in 2022, URCS has been at the forefront of the humanitarian response, providing aid to millions of people affected by the war. The organization has delivered food, water, hygiene kits, and medical supplies to conflict-affected areas, supported evacuation efforts, and provided first aid and psychological support. URCS continues to adapt its operations to meet the evolving needs of the population, including winterization assistance and support for internally displaced persons.
