Organization: Street Child

About

Street Child is a global non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to education, safety, and the opportunity to thrive. Founded in 2008, the organization works in some of the world’s most challenging environments, including conflict-affected regions, to support the most vulnerable children and their families. Street Child’s mission is to create lasting change by empowering local communities and strengthening education systems.

In Ukraine, Street Child has been active since 2014, initially focusing on supporting children affected by the conflict in the east. Following the full-scale invasion in 2022, the organization rapidly scaled up its operations. Street Child’s programs in Ukraine include emergency education, child protection, psychosocial support, and livelihood assistance for displaced families. The organization works in partnership with local NGOs and authorities to reach children in frontline areas and host communities.

Since 2022, Street Child has reached over 100,000 children and caregivers in Ukraine with education and protection services. The organization has established child-friendly spaces, provided learning materials, and supported teachers. Street Child also delivers winterization kits and cash assistance to vulnerable families. Their emergency response focuses on the most affected regions, including Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Dnipro oblasts.
