Solidar

Solidar Suisse is a Swiss non-profit organization dedicated to social justice, solidarity, and the fight against poverty and inequality worldwide. Founded in 1936, it works in over 30 countries, focusing on empowering workers, promoting decent work, and supporting communities in crisis. Its mandate includes humanitarian aid, development cooperation, and advocacy for human rights.

In Ukraine, Solidar Suisse has been active since 2014, initially supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs) and conflict-affected communities in the east. Following the full-scale invasion in 2022, it scaled up operations to provide multi-sectoral assistance, including protection, livelihoods, food security, shelter, WASH, health, and education. It works through local partners and direct implementation in frontline and hard-to-reach areas.

Since 2022, Solidar Suisse has reached over 200,000 people with emergency aid, including cash assistance, winterization supplies, psychosocial support, and repair of damaged homes. Its response focuses on the most vulnerable, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, and female-headed households. The organization continues to adapt its programs to meet evolving needs, such as preparing for winter and supporting recovery.
