Organization: Save the Children International

About

Save the Children International is a global non-profit organization founded in 1919, dedicated to improving the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts. The organization operates in over 120 countries, advocating for children’s rights and ensuring their voices are heard.

In Ukraine, Save the Children has been operational since 2014, focusing on child protection, education, and psychosocial support. The organization works with local partners to provide safe learning spaces, mine risk education, and cash assistance to vulnerable families. Their programs also address health, nutrition, and winterization needs, reaching children and families in both government-controlled and non-government-controlled areas.

Since the escalation of the conflict in February 2022, Save the Children has scaled up its emergency response, reaching over 1.5 million people, including 800,000 children. The organization provides multi-purpose cash assistance, child protection services, educational supplies, and mental health support. They also support host communities and internally displaced persons, ensuring children have access to essential services and protection from violence and exploitation.
