About
Cherkasy Legal Aid is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. Founded in 2014, its global mission is to support civil society and vulnerable populations through legal aid, advocacy, and humanitarian assistance. The organization operates with a focus on protecting the rights of marginalized groups and ensuring access to justice.
In Ukraine, Cherkasy Legal Aid has been active since 2014, initially focusing on human rights monitoring and legal support for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and conflict-affected communities. Following the full-scale invasion in 2022, the organization expanded its programs to include emergency humanitarian aid, such as the distribution of food, hygiene kits, and shelter materials. Pravoche also runs protection programs for women, children, and the elderly, and provides psychosocial support.
Since 2022, Pravoche has reached over 100,000 beneficiaries across eastern and southern Ukraine. Its emergency response includes rapid needs assessments, cash assistance, and the rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure. The organization continues to adapt its interventions to the evolving crisis, focusing on the most vulnerable populations in frontline areas.
