About
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. With a global reach spanning over 80 countries, the organization works to create lasting change for children, especially the most marginalized, by tackling the root causes of poverty, violence, and exclusion.
In Ukraine, Plan International has been operational since 2014, focusing on education, child protection, and gender-based violence prevention. The organization works in partnership with local authorities and civil society to provide safe learning spaces, psychosocial support, and life-saving information to children and families affected by the conflict.
Since the escalation of war in February 2022, Plan International has scaled up its emergency response, reaching over 1 million people with humanitarian assistance. Programs include cash and voucher assistance, winterization kits, child-friendly spaces, and support for displaced families, with a particular emphasis on the needs of girls and young women.
