Organization: Plan International
About
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. With a global presence in over 80 countries, the organization works to create a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls, focusing on child protection, education, health, and economic empowerment.
In Ukraine, Plan International has been operational since 2014, initially focusing on child protection and education in the eastern regions affected by conflict. Following the escalation of war in February 2022, the organization scaled up its response to provide emergency assistance, including child protection services, education in emergencies, and cash and voucher assistance to vulnerable families.
Plan International’s Ukraine response has reached over 1 million people, including children and caregivers, with a focus on mental health and psychosocial support, safe learning spaces, and winterization assistance. The organization works in partnership with local NGOs and authorities to deliver aid across government-controlled areas and near the frontlines.
