PIN
Organization: People in Need
About
People in Need (PIN) is a Czech non-governmental organization that provides humanitarian aid and development assistance worldwide. Founded in 1992, its mission is to help people in need, promote human rights, and support democratic freedoms. PIN operates in over 20 countries, focusing on emergency response, long-term development, and advocacy.
In Ukraine, PIN has been active since 2014, initially responding to the conflict in the east. Its programs include emergency cash assistance, shelter repairs, winterization, water and sanitation, protection services, and education support. PIN works in government-controlled and frontline areas, reaching vulnerable populations with integrated aid.
Since the escalation of the war in February 2022, PIN has scaled up its response, reaching over 1.5 million people with multi-purpose cash, shelter materials, hygiene kits, and psychosocial support. The organization continues to adapt its programs to meet evolving needs, including support for internally displaced persons and conflict-affected communities.
