PAH
Organization: Polish Humanitarian Action
About
Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is a non-governmental organization founded in 1992, dedicated to providing humanitarian aid and development assistance worldwide. Its mission is to save lives, alleviate suffering, and support the dignity of people affected by crises, conflicts, and natural disasters. PAH operates based on the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence, focusing on the most vulnerable populations.
In Ukraine, PAH has been active since 2014, initially responding to the conflict in the eastern regions. Its programs include emergency food distributions, cash assistance, water and sanitation (WASH) interventions, shelter repairs, and protection services for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and conflict-affected communities. PAH also supports local health facilities and provides psychosocial support, with a strong emphasis on reaching hard-to-access areas near the front line.
Since the escalation of the war in February 2022, PAH has scaled up its response significantly, reaching over 1.5 million people with life-saving aid. The organization has provided multi-purpose cash assistance, winterization supplies, and emergency shelter to thousands of families. PAH continues to adapt its programs to meet evolving needs, including support for host communities and integration of IDPs, while maintaining a focus on long-term recovery and resilience.
