NP
Organization: Nonviolent Peaceforce
About
Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a global civilian protection organization dedicated to protecting civilians in violent conflicts through unarmed strategies and nonviolent intervention. Founded in 2002, NP works with local communities to prevent violence, reduce risks, and build peace, operating in some of the world’s most dangerous conflict zones.
In Ukraine, NP has been active since 2014, focusing on civilian protection, conflict monitoring, and supporting local peace initiatives. Their programs include unarmed civilian protection (UCP), community security, and capacity building for local organizations to respond to conflict-related violence.
Since the escalation of the conflict in 2022, NP has expanded its operations to provide direct protection to civilians, including evacuation support, safe passage, and monitoring of human rights violations. They have trained hundreds of local volunteers in protective accompaniment and conflict mediation, contributing to the safety of vulnerable populations in frontline areas.
