About

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that provides emergency medical assistance to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from healthcare. Founded in 1971, MSF delivers impartial aid based on medical ethics and the principles of neutrality and independence.

In Ukraine, MSF has been present since 2014, initially responding to the conflict in the east. Following the escalation in February 2022, MSF scaled up operations across the country, supporting hospitals, rehabilitating health facilities, and providing mobile clinics in hard-to-reach areas. MSF also runs mental health programs and trains local medical staff in emergency trauma care.

Since the full-scale war began, MSF has provided over 1,000 tons of medical supplies, supported more than 50 hospitals, and conducted thousands of consultations. MSF’s emergency response includes surgical teams, ambulance services, and support for rehabilitation of war-wounded patients. The organization continues to adapt its activities to the evolving needs of the conflict-affected population.
