About

Médecins du Monde (MdM) is an international humanitarian organization founded in 1980, providing medical care to vulnerable populations in crisis settings worldwide. Its mission is to ensure universal access to healthcare, regardless of political, economic, or social barriers, and to advocate for the right to health.

In Ukraine, MdM has been operational since 2014, initially responding to the conflict in the east. Its programs include primary healthcare, emergency medical services, mental health and psychosocial support, protection, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) interventions. MdM works through mobile clinics and fixed health facilities, reaching conflict-affected communities in frontline areas.

Since the escalation of the war in February 2022, MdM has scaled up its emergency response, deploying medical teams, supplying essential medicines, and supporting hospitals and primary care centers. In 2023, MdM provided over 200,000 medical consultations and distributed hygiene kits to thousands of displaced families, contributing to the resilience of Ukraine’s health system.
