About
Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. (JUH) is a German non-profit organization and a member of the Order of St. John, dedicated to providing emergency medical services, disaster relief, and social welfare programs worldwide. Its mission is to save lives, alleviate suffering, and promote human dignity through rapid and effective humanitarian action, guided by Christian values and the principles of neutrality and impartiality.
In Ukraine, Johanniter has been active since 2014, focusing on health, protection, and WASH interventions. The organization supports mobile medical units, provides psychosocial support to conflict-affected populations, and rehabilitates water and sanitation infrastructure in eastern Ukraine. Additionally, it distributes hygiene kits, winterization items, and cash assistance to vulnerable households.
Since the escalation of the conflict in February 2022, Johanniter has scaled up its emergency response, reaching over 500,000 people with life-saving aid. Its logistics hub in Dnipro facilitates the delivery of medical supplies and relief goods to frontline areas. The organization also supports local health facilities with equipment and training, ensuring continued access to healthcare for displaced and war-affected communities.
