About

International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) is the humanitarian and development agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America. Founded in 1992, IOCC’s global mission is to respond to the needs of the poor and suffering in over 50 countries, providing emergency relief, sustainable development, and dignified support regardless of faith, ethnicity, or gender.

In Ukraine, IOCC has been active since 2014, initially responding to the conflict in the east. Following the full-scale invasion in February 2022, IOCC expanded its programs to address the massive humanitarian crisis. Key sectors include health (supporting hospitals and mobile clinics), protection (psychosocial support and child protection), WASH (water and sanitation in collective centers), shelter and NFI (emergency repairs and winterization kits), livelihoods (cash assistance and small grants), food security (food parcels and hot meals), and logistics (transport of aid).

Since 2022, IOCC has reached over 1.5 million people in Ukraine with life-saving assistance. Its emergency response focuses on the most vulnerable, including internally displaced persons, the elderly, and families with children. IOCC works through local partners and church networks to deliver aid in frontline areas and hard-to-reach communities, ensuring a rapid and effective humanitarian response.
