HELP

Organization: Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe

About

Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe is a German non-governmental organization founded in 1981, dedicated to providing humanitarian aid and development assistance worldwide. Its mission is to empower people in crisis-affected regions to help themselves, focusing on sustainable solutions that address the root causes of poverty and vulnerability.

In Ukraine, HELP has been active since 2014, implementing programs in health, protection, water and sanitation (WASH), shelter, livelihoods, food security, and education. The organization works primarily in eastern Ukraine, supporting conflict-affected populations with emergency relief and long-term recovery initiatives.

Since the escalation of the conflict in February 2022, HELP has scaled up its emergency response, reaching over 1.5 million people with life-saving assistance, including medical supplies, cash assistance, shelter repairs, and psychosocial support. The organization continues to adapt its programs to meet the evolving needs of displaced and war-affected communities.
