About
HealthRight International is a global health and human rights organization that works to build healthy communities by ensuring access to health care for marginalized populations. Founded in 1990 by Dr. Paul Farmer and others, HealthRight operates in over 20 countries, focusing on strengthening health systems, promoting human rights, and addressing social determinants of health.
In Ukraine, HealthRight has been active since 2014, implementing programs to improve access to primary healthcare, HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis services, and mental health support. The organization works closely with local partners and the Ministry of Health to integrate services for vulnerable groups, including internally displaced persons, people living with HIV, and survivors of gender-based violence.
Since the escalation of the conflict in 2022, HealthRight has rapidly scaled up its emergency response, providing mobile health units, psychosocial support, and essential medicines to conflict-affected communities. The organization has reached over 200,000 people with critical health services and continues to adapt its programs to meet the evolving needs of the population.
