About

EMERGENCY is an independent and neutral international non-governmental organization founded in 1994 to provide free, high-quality medical and surgical care to victims of war, landmines, and poverty. Its mission is to promote a culture of peace and solidarity by treating all patients regardless of their race, religion, or political affiliation, and by building hospitals and medical centers in conflict-affected and underserved areas.

In Ukraine, EMERGENCY has been active since 2014, initially providing medical supplies and training. Following the escalation of conflict in 2022, the organization expanded its operations, establishing a surgical and intensive care center in Lviv and supporting hospitals in other regions. EMERGENCY also runs mobile clinics and rehabilitation programs for war-wounded civilians and military personnel.

Since February 2022, EMERGENCY has treated over 10,000 patients in Ukraine, including victims of bombings and shelling. The organization’s emergency response includes deploying surgical teams, providing trauma care, and distributing essential medicines and medical equipment to frontline hospitals. EMERGENCY continues to adapt its interventions to meet the evolving needs of the conflict-affected population.
