About
Depaul International is a global charity founded in 1989, inspired by the values of St. Vincent de Paul. Its mission is to end homelessness and support vulnerable individuals by providing housing, healthcare, education, and employment services. Operating in over 10 countries, Depaul works with people experiencing homelessness, refugees, and displaced populations, advocating for their rights and dignity.
In Ukraine, Depaul has been active since 2014, initially supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. Following the full-scale invasion in 2022, Depaul expanded its operations to provide emergency shelter, winterization kits, food parcels, and psychosocial support. The organization runs community centers, mobile outreach teams, and a shelter in Kyiv, focusing on the most vulnerable, including women, children, and the elderly.
Since 2022, Depaul has reached over 100,000 people with emergency assistance, including shelter for 5,000 individuals and food distributions to 50,000. Its rapid response includes cash assistance, hygiene kits, and protection services. Depaul continues to adapt its programs to meet evolving needs, such as preparing for winter and supporting long-term recovery.
