About
DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish humanitarian organization founded in 1922, working to assist the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. Rooted in Christian values, DCA’s global mission is to save lives, build resilient communities, and advocate for justice. The organization operates in over 20 countries, focusing on emergency response, long-term development, and advocacy.
In Ukraine, DCA has been active since 2014, initially providing humanitarian assistance to conflict-affected populations in the east. Following the full-scale invasion in 2022, DCA scaled up its operations significantly, implementing programs in food security, livelihoods, protection, shelter, WASH, and mine action. DCA works through local partners and direct implementation in frontline and newly accessible areas.
Since 2022, DCA has reached over 1 million people with emergency food, cash assistance, shelter repairs, and psychosocial support. The organization also conducts mine risk education and clearance to enable safe return and recovery. DCA’s response is guided by humanitarian principles and a commitment to leaving no one behind.
