Organization: Cesvi Fondazione Onlus
About
Cesvi is an independent, non-profit humanitarian organization founded in Italy in 1985. Its global mission is to fight poverty, social exclusion, and environmental degradation, promoting sustainable development and human rights. Cesvi operates in over 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe, focusing on emergency relief, rehabilitation, and long-term development programs.
In Ukraine, Cesvi has been active since 2014, initially providing humanitarian assistance to conflict-affected populations in the eastern regions. Following the escalation of the conflict in February 2022, Cesvi scaled up its operations, implementing integrated programs in health, protection, water and sanitation (WASH), shelter, and livelihoods. The organization works in partnership with local authorities and international agencies to reach vulnerable communities in frontline areas and among internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Cesvi’s emergency response in Ukraine has reached over 200,000 beneficiaries with essential services, including medical supplies, psychosocial support, cash assistance, and shelter repairs. The organization continues to adapt its interventions to the evolving needs, focusing on winterization, mine risk education, and support for host communities. Cesvi remains committed to providing life-saving assistance and fostering resilience among the most vulnerable populations affected by the war.
