Caritas Ukraine

Caritas Ukraine is part of Caritas Internationalis, a global confederation of Catholic relief, development, and social service organizations operating in over 200 countries. Its mission is to serve the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized, promoting integral human development and responding to emergencies with compassion and professionalism.

In Ukraine, Caritas Ukraine has been active since 2014, providing humanitarian assistance to conflict-affected populations in the east. Its programs include emergency shelter, food and non-food item distributions, psychosocial support, health services, water and sanitation, livelihoods support, and protection activities for internally displaced persons and vulnerable communities.

Since the escalation of the war in February 2022, Caritas Ukraine has scaled up its emergency response, reaching over 1 million people with life-saving aid. It operates through a network of regional offices and partners, delivering multi-sectoral assistance including cash transfers, winterization kits, and educational support, while also advocating for the rights of affected populations.
