APS-ActionAid Spain

Alianza por la Solidaridad-ActionAid Spain is a Spanish NGO that forms part of the global ActionAid federation. Its mission is to promote social justice, gender equality, and the eradication of poverty by empowering communities and supporting grassroots organizations. The organization works in over 40 countries, focusing on women’s rights, humanitarian action, and sustainable development.

In Ukraine, Alianza por la Solidaridad-ActionAid Spain has been active since 2014, initially supporting conflict-affected populations in the east. Since the escalation of the war in February 2022, the organization has scaled up its response, providing humanitarian aid in the areas of protection, gender-based violence prevention and response, livelihoods, food security, and education. It works with local partners to reach vulnerable groups, including women, children, elderly, and internally displaced persons.

Through its emergency response, Alianza por la Solidaridad-ActionAid Spain has reached thousands of people with cash assistance, psychosocial support, legal aid, and shelter repairs. The organization also advocates for the inclusion of women and marginalized groups in humanitarian decision-making. Its programs aim to address both immediate needs and long-term resilience in the context of the ongoing conflict.
