About
ACTED is a non-governmental organization founded in 1993, with a mission to support vulnerable populations affected by conflicts, natural disasters, and economic hardship. Operating in over 30 countries worldwide, ACTED delivers emergency relief and long-term development programs, focusing on food security, livelihoods, WASH, shelter, protection, health, education, and logistics. The organization is committed to a needs-based approach, ensuring that aid reaches the most marginalized communities.
In Ukraine, ACTED has been active since 2014, initially providing humanitarian assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and conflict-affected communities in the east. Following the escalation of the conflict in February 2022, ACTED rapidly scaled up its operations, implementing multi-sectoral programs across the country. Key areas of intervention include emergency shelter repairs, distribution of non-food items (NFIs), cash assistance, protection services, and support for winterization. ACTED also coordinates logistics and supply chain support for the humanitarian community through its involvement in the Logistics Cluster.
Since the full-scale invasion, ACTED has reached over 1.5 million people with life-saving assistance. The organization has provided emergency shelter to thousands of families, distributed cash and vouchers for basic needs, and established mobile protection teams to support vulnerable groups, including women, children, and the elderly. ACTED continues to adapt its response to the evolving needs, focusing on hard-to-reach areas and supporting the resilience of local communities.
