About

ACAPS is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian analysis and assessments to support evidence-based decision-making in the humanitarian sector. Its global mission is to improve the effectiveness of humanitarian response by delivering timely, accurate, and relevant information on crises, needs, and gaps. ACAPS works with a wide range of partners, including UN agencies, NGOs, and donors, to produce objective and impartial analysis that informs strategic planning and resource allocation.

In Ukraine, ACAPS has been active since 2014, initially focusing on the conflict in the east. Following the escalation of the war in February 2022, ACAPS significantly scaled up its operations. It provides continuous needs assessments, situation analyses, and thematic reports covering sectors such as protection, health, food security, and logistics. ACAPS also runs the Ukraine Analysis Hub, which coordinates with local and international partners to produce joint assessments and gap analyses.

ACAPS has had a substantial impact on the humanitarian response in Ukraine by informing the strategic direction of aid organizations and donors. Its rapid needs assessments and scenario reports have helped prioritize assistance in hard-hit areas, including frontline communities and areas with limited access. ACAPS’s analysis has been crucial in identifying emerging needs, such as winterization requirements and the impact of attacks on energy infrastructure, thereby enabling a more targeted and effective response.
