Transitional Administration

A temporary governing body, typically created by a UN Security Council mandate following a peace agreement, that oversees a country’s shift from conflict or colonial rule to stable self-governance. It integrates three core functions: civilian administration and policing, humanitarian aid coordination, and peacekeeping operations. Examples include the missions in East Timor and Kosovo.
