Peacemaking

Peacemaking involves diplomatic efforts to persuade conflicting parties to stop fighting and negotiate a peaceful resolution, typically through methods outlined in Chapter VI of the UN Charter. It requires the consent of the parties and excludes coercive measures like peace enforcement. Post-conflict transition refers to the fragile period after hostilities end, where humanitarian aid, disarmament, demobilization, reintegration, and infrastructure rebuilding are in early stages, sometimes including a temporary UN administration.
