Unexploded Ordnance (UXO)
Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) refers to explosive weapons that have been prepared for use, such as by priming, fusing, or arming, and have been fired, dropped, launched, or projected but failed to detonate as intended. This category includes artillery shells, rockets, mortars, and their submunitions like bomblets and minelets. Bomblets are small explosives designed to detonate on impact or after a short delay, while minelets are victim-activated devices. UXO can result from malfunction, design flaws, or other reasons, posing ongoing hazards.
